Arne Duncan is a prominent educator and public servant who served as the U.S. Secretary of Education under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2016. Before his tenure in Washington, he was the CEO of Chicago Public Schools, where he implemented significant reforms and oversaw the opening of over 100 new schools. Currently, Duncan is the Managing Director of Chicago CRED, an organization dedicated to reducing gun violence and providing opportunities for at-risk youth in Chicago. A Harvard graduate and former professional basketball player, he has devoted his career to improving educational outcomes and advocating for vulnerable communities.
